The lake was beautiful. The campsites are clean with good working bathroom. I just wished they had showers. There’s an information board as you get into the camp but unclear as to directions how to check-in and I did not notice any map of the campsite to direct you to your site. Apparently, you don’t have to check in or out. They have a card on your booked site with your name and date of camping. A bit confusing for first timers.

I only spent one night here, but I was favorably impressed with the campground. I found the restrooms to be extremely clean, which is important to my wife and me. My particular campsite was exposed (no shade), so I didn't experience the full effect of the sun and heat, but I bet it can get quite toasty. I had a nice walk along the south shore in the very early morning before everyone was up and moving about. I will be back.
My reservation reminder stated that this campsite did not have a bear box. It did.

Convict lake is very beautiful lake. Crystal clear water, with a rocky beach. The camp ground is nice and kept very clean. Bathrooms are flush toilets and always kept clean and stocked. The lake store is very nice and convenient. No showers at the camp ground but they do have pay showers by the store and resort.

Camp spot very good, views awesome, but very windy made cooking outside impossible. Have camped there many times before, but with good weather.

The pictures and description of the spot we booked failed to mention it’s on a hill side, made it very hard to get out motorhome level.

Great campground! Clean bathrooms and deer everywhere. Expect wind in the afternoons and tie down your tents.

Convict Lake Campground is perfect for groups of families and friends. There are ample opportunities to enjoy the stream and the lake and hikes for all levels of hikers. For those not used to "roughing it," the proximity to the Convict Lake Resort's store and restaurant make this location great for beginner campers and anyone wishing to invite family that would rather rent a cabin and eat meals indoors. Highly recommend!
