What Guests Are Saying
Dimond O Campground offers a pleasant stay with well-maintained sites, friendly hosts, and clean bathrooms. Visitors appreciate the beautiful surroundings, privacy between campsites, and proximity to Yosemite National Park. However, some drawbacks include limited water availability, noise from the camp host's generator, and the rustic facilities.

Very nice campground. Camp hosts Jenny and Mike were super helpful and pleasant. They run a tight ship, in the best possible way. The bathrooms and campsites were amongst the cleanest Iβve ever seen.

A very nice campground a bit off the main road but perfectly located between two entrances to the Yosemite National Park.

Clean campground; surprisingly clean pit toilets. But Evergreen Road was not for the faint of heart; if you go, go slowly for the sake of your poor vehicle and tires.

While it involves a slight detour down a secondary road off of Route 120, Diamond O is a true gem of a campground (pun intended). During my first night in the Yosemite area I camped in Hodgdon Meadows just inside the park boundaries. This forest service campground is much nicer than anything in the park, believe it or not. At this campground you'll get an actual framed, level pad for your tent, designated parking for your site (neither of which are present in the Yosemite CGs) and a very nice fire ring setup with a grill and rods for hanging cooking pots. Unlike some forest service campgrounds it also has a host. No flushing toilets, but I'd take the tradeoff for the other features. AS A BIG PLUS it also has plenty of walk in sites, many of which were open even on a Friday night in July. Don't change a thing, Diamond O.

The campground was quiet and friendly. Platforms for the tents were a step up (about a foot), but totally necessary for snow and rain. One slight complaint - we looked for recycling containers but didn't find any. Otherwise, it was a great launching spot for a day at Hetch Hetchy Reservoir and a hike up to Wapama Falls. Unfortunately, we didn't have the equipment in July 2023 to cross the Tueeulala Falls (sturdy hiking sticks and good first aid kit in case of a fall), so we turned back and will have to go back the next time the falls are in full flight.

Gorgeous site! Close to the creek, full of trees but not too dark or cold, spacious and in good shape. Close to the Yosemite Park entrance.
