This campground is down the road from new shady rest. Each campground is more spaced out from your neighbors VS new shady camp you're a little closer together. Nice to have flushing toilets and signal as well. Clean campground. Will definitely come back.

The place was great. Our site was clean, bear box was clean, fire pit was clean. Host was nice and informative. The only issue was the road around the campground is in need of some attention. The road is missing in a few spots.

This has been a family favorite since I came here as a child. My grandkids now come here, too. Close to Town of Mammoth Lakes for services and supplies. Spaces are more separated and provide more privacy than at New Shady Rest across the road. Sites are not as level, though.

Rates went up again yet the roads are the original pavement of which half of it is missing. I don’t know where all the money goes but it certainly not into any type of improvement to the campgrounds.

Old Shady Rest is a gem. Lots of space between sites filled with whispering pines. Just minutes to town by bike. Great park also just a short walk or bike ride from camp. Restrooms were immaculate and camp host super friendly and accommodating.

Beautiful tall pines and much separation between sites worked for us. We’ll be back!

Must loop the whole campground to get to this spot at the end but it was fairly secluded. Bathrooms were super close. Driveway was almost level for our pickup camper, needed just a bit of tweaking. Sunny part of the day. The trees were beautiful and it was quiet at night.
