I've been coming to the area Mammoth all my life of seventy some years, Mammoth has vastly improved over the years for family activities. What could improve, but hasn't so much is the sites at shady rest and old shady rest, the price is great! Can't beat it. But moving a boulder/rock here and there, taking out a 6x6/8x8 post here and there, taking out a tree here and there would vastly improve the camp ground. As is, many sites are very long but backing in is virtually impossible because of the above. Years ago many trees were removed, could have done better to provide backing!!!!

Love this campground. Always quiet and clean, very close to town, but still feel
I am in the high mountains. Beautiful tall pine trees in camp

We had an excellent time in Mammoth, CA and it was very easy to find camping sites. Camp sites and their hosts were very nice and accommodating for our needs. The only thing I was not aware of is the $7.00/night additional charge for the second vehicle. Facilities and the camp sites were clean and no issues with noise, so it was a very pleasant trip and can't Waite to do it again :)

This campground really isn't in the forest, rather it is just off town and partially surrounded by houses and mobile homes. It's hot during the summer, compared to the more normal campgrounds at the various Mammoth Lakes. Not great.

the site I was in fit my trailer but getting it in that site was a bugger. Not enough room to maneuver with the curve of the road, and the trees and rocks right next to the road. we were in site number 22 which is right at the bend of the road.

It was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed it!! You can walk to the grocery store if worse comes to worst. The camp host was amazing and very helpful. We are planning to come back next year.

Great site that is essentially in town but feels like you’re not. Good base camp for car camping and adventures in Mammoth.
