Great place. Quiet and pretty. Close enough to get to Mammoth in 10 minutes or so. Mind the Black Bears though.

Beautiful campsite. Creek was flowing like crazy. Unfortunately a few too many bear sightings in campsites for my liking. Hosts were great about trying to scare them off but it made it hard to relax/sleep. First time camping in Mammoth though. Maybe this is the norm and I’m just being a wimp.

Great location with lots of shade and beautiful scenery. Quiet location not too far from town and the highway. Pit toilets and no showers. Lots of great sites.

Sherwin Creek was the first stop on a 4.5 week road trip. The camp site was nicely private, near a rushing creek, and had potable water. After the heat of Las Vegas it was a pleasure to be up in the cooler mountains, though day time temperatures were reasonable. There are plenty of places to hike and we took full advantage. You're also close to the town of Mammoth Lake for groceries or restaurants if you want.

5

Great campground. Much calmer than the rest of the mammoth area. At first, I was disappointed I couldn’t get a reservation up in the lakes basin. But after visiting, and I was so glad to have a nice quiet campground to retreat to. The hosts were great. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. Highly recommend it.
