Our experience was okay. The openings to the recycle bins in the non-walk-in sites were too small to put all the items that are recyclable. Please consider replacing these with the ones you have in the walk-in sites, which can accommodate larger recycle items. The bathrooms were not kept very clean. We, sadly, had bear encounters, which are NOT good for the bears! People NEED TO BE MORE CONSIDERATE OF THE BEARS!!! It's not the bears' fault that they are hanging out in campgrounds. It's people's poor camping etiquette that encourages the bears to stay around the campgrounds, which ultimately is bad for the bears as they are the ones to suffer from people's lack of consideration for the bears' welfare. There were very few signs posted about bear activity. There should be MANY more signs posted to help people do the right thing, especially when there is DAILY bear activity IN THE CAMPGROUND.

Wonderful campground and very nice hosts close to Mammoth. Very clean restrooms!
The only reason why this is not a 5star review is the fact that they put up a bear trap for mama bear (with cub) that has been coming around for years. I guess a camper complained or tried feeding her or was too lazy to secure their food. Very upsetting. We live in bear country and love our bears. We know what happens once they get trapped… put a very negative spin on our last few days staying here. I hope she is a smart Mama and stays away from the trap!!!!!

Camp host warned us on arrival about bears and how to protect the bears and us with food safety. The campground was clean and bathrooms serviced well. The hiking trails were amazing around Mammoth.
