Great campground
Don’t leave your bear cabinet open for even a little while when you are loading in!🐻
Love the creek, well maintained and close to all kinds of great hikes!

Hosts Dave and Sheryl were very accomindating and worked hard to make all campers stay enjoyable. Trash dumpsters needed to be emptied more often as they would overflow.

I am sure it's because of the Covid virus, but the campground was extremely crowded. Campers in their side by sides were even cruising the campground, continually, in the evening hours. Lot's of dust. Hardly anyone observed the 15 mph speed. However, kayaking at Lake George was awesome! We did have a good time despite the above and the campground hosts were super cool!

It was a little different to plan activities due to Covid. Just be aware the last 1/8 is a dirt road that is rocky and has alot of ruts.

I've been coming here for decades. Used to be all tent camping back in the day. Then RVs and generator noise became the norm. Then Mammoth Motocross was a thing late June/early July, so avoid that time if you don't want to hear dirt bikes all day. Then off road vehicles were common, and the rule was you could drive them from your camp site out of the campground and back, and that's it. Now, it's RVs and generators, and people riding dirt bikes and off road vehicles up and down the campground roads all morning and all evening.
Back in the day there were 3 flushing toilets with sinks and running water per loop/area. Now each facility only has 2 vault toilets, and they're gendered male/female. If one is closed, I'm going to use the other. They also aren't cleaned and stocked as often as they have been in the past. For as many people staying in RVs as there are, I'm surprised how dirty these toilets get and stay.
The price keeps going up, and the quality of the experience keeps going down.

Beautiful campsite. Loved the Walk In site along the creek, the sound of the water was so relaxing. The only downside was that the grate on our campfire was broken but we made it work. Will definitely be back!

Nice location in the trees away from town and close to hiking. There is limited to no cell service at the campground.

We stayed for almost 2 weeks (had to move spots a few times) and each site was great. We saw a bear pretty much nightly so make sure to stay bear safe and enjoy your stay!
