Upon arriving the weather was cold and some snow was falling. I spoke to the camp host about my reservation needing to stay in one camping site for two days and moving to a second camp site for four days. Will, the camp host, was able to find a campsite for me to stay all six days without having to relocate after two days. I greatly appreciated his understanding of my situation and he was able to accommodate me as best he could and provide excellent customer service. Sherwin Camp is a great central location to Crowley Lake, Owens River, June Lakes loop, , Rock Creek, Convict Lake and other trout fishing destinations. The town of Mammoth Lakes is within two miles away and has all the restaurants and stores for your convenience. As a result, I had a great experience with other friends that I met up with at Sherwin Camp.

Keep your food locked up. Resident bear tried to get in our rig during the night through an open window, tearing the screen. RV in next site got ransacked during the day by bear looking for snacks. Beautiful scenery and wildlife.

We loved this campsite, and the night-time sounds of running water. Campsite 008 is only a short walk from the parking.... right next to a stream... and even though the entire campground was pretty full, this location felt quiet and very much in nature.
Note that you're within sightlines of 2-3 other camps, but everyone was quiet and polite, and you're far enough not to hear each other unless folks shout.
within short walk of trash and toilets, but not close enough to smell them :)
Only complaint was that the camp host walked up to talk without a mask and acted annoyed when we asked her to put it on.

Wonderful campground. We almost cancelled due to negative reviews about noise, but it wasn't at all a problem when we were there. There was stream right behind our campsite which was so nice to sit by.

Great campsite, location, nearby hikes, and nice sites. Only issue was the noise...our neighbors were LOUD until 1am. Not cool. We told them to quiet down, but they didn't. And I guess no one else said anything. Oh well. Would camp here again, but hopefully next to mindful, quiet folk.

This was our second year coming here, we absolutely love it. The creek was a little low this year and not stocked with trout, still good to check out. All the lakes are within reasonable driving distance. stores and restaurants right outside of campground. will be coming back next year again.
