What Guests Are Saying
Lake Mary Campground offers beautiful scenery, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, making it a great option for outdoor enthusiasts. Many visitors enjoyed activities like canoeing and stargazing, and appreciated the presence of flush toilets and paved trails. However, some sites are cramped and bear activity can be a concern, so visitors are advised to secure food properly and consider the site's layout before booking.

The lake was beautiful it was not overly crowded. The fishing was amazing, even for the youngsters.

What an amazing campground. Our site in particular was basically as picturesque as it gets. Lake front site, clean, and has everything you need. The lake itself has a great marina shop to do all kinds of boating and there’s quite a few lakes very close by. Lake Mary was the best in my opinion. Our camp host was awesome too! Quaint campground and lake but large enough to have everything you need.

The campground itself is nice, but the site 49 that we stayed at should have not even been a camp site. It's really small compared to other sites, partly because it's butt against the hill and site 50 which is fairly large. The 2 spaces for tents are bad. 1 space is next to the parking space and the other one is right next to the neighbor's fire pit. We stayed 6/30-7/4, the neighbors were loud and had the music on way past the quiet time (10pm). All the smoke was coming into the tent and by 11:30pm, I went over to the neighbors to quiet down and kill the fire. Fortunately, my relatives were staying at sites 48, 47, and 46, which were all on top of the hill. So the next day we moved our tent up there where it was really spacious. I'd strongly advise anyone against staying at site 49. Truly, this site should not even be a site considering how small it is and its bad location for the tents.

We were at site 34 which had plenty of shade and flat spaces for our tents. The other campers were respectful and friendly.

This was a stunning location! We tent camped in late June, which was rather cold at night (dropped as low as 27⁰ the first night), but we had appropriate sleeping bags and made through unscathed. The cold kept the area around us relatively empty for the first couple nights, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The view from our campsite looked directly to Crystal Crag and it was one of the best tent camping views I've ever experienced. The camp sites were spacious and well laid out so when neighbors did show up we didnt feel displaced or crowded. The bathrooms were well-maintained and kept clean, and the camp hosts were friendly and helpful in sharing information about the area including interesting hikes and great spots in town to check out.
I'd recommend the hike up to Skelton Lake past Emerald Lake, it was a bit strenguous for me at the middle (I'm a bit out of shape and still carrying my covid 20), but my kids (12 & 14yo) and husband were unphased. It was definitely worth it for me to take it slow and experience the beauty of Skelton Lake, not to mention the beauty of the trail which follows a creek much of the way to Emerald Lake and then turns in rocky crags and views when you look back. Do remember to bring your bug spray, there was still some snow in a few places along the trail, but that didnt stop the mosquitos from biting!
We took the other trail down past Arrow Head Lake and I was told by a local hiker I met on the trail that this trail actually has the lesser incline of the two and is easier on the way up (good to know for next time). The trail met up just across the parking lot from where we started so it worked out perfectly to make the hike more of loop instead of just out and back. With all this, plus a stunning location, lakes full of fish (though we didn't catch any we saw a few people who did well), and plenty of hiking trails to some of the most beautiful vistas and lakes, there's not much more I could ask for!

Campsite was clean and scenic, tons of stars visible at night. Bathrooms were well kept. Our camp host Heidi and her husband were super nice and helpful. Our bear box key broke and they assisted right away. No showers at campsite but it wasn't a huge issue for our short visit. Most lakes and hikes are close by. Overall a good experience.

Aside from the weather being much colder than we had hoped for (which we 100% realize is at no fault of anyone's), we had a wonderful time! The camp hosts were hands down the most amazing people who were generous and very helpful. I would suggest that if you are planning on camping here you pack for all 4 seasons, include a great pair of walking/hiking shoes, and expect to be off the cell grid. Still one of my favorite places to visit and we will be back with our kids in the coming years.

Too many trees down. And more going to be cut. Leaving an open wind tunnel. Totally understandable trees need to be cut, but waiting for all in the same season is not healthy for the trees. Plus there are no baby trees to be seen. Scary for the future and f this land
