What Guests Are Saying
Lake Mary Campground offers beautiful scenery, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, making it a great option for outdoor enthusiasts. Many visitors enjoyed activities like canoeing and stargazing, and appreciated the presence of flush toilets and paved trails. However, some sites are cramped and bear activity can be a concern, so visitors are advised to secure food properly and consider the site's layout before booking.

We arrived at 4:45 on August 30 after a 6 hour drive. We were met by the camp host who apologized profusely but informed us that we would need to leave by noon the next day as the National Forests were being closed to consolidate resources to fight the fires North of Mammoth Lakes. We didn’t set up camp, just ate dinner and went to bed. We left at 8AM and drove to the coast where we were fortunate to find a camp spot at a county park. We checked our e-mail- the cancellation notice was received 8/30 at 5:36PM.

The California campgrounds closed unexpectedly due to a fire about 100 miles away. Got one night. Loved the area, campsites were clean - excellent location. Can be windy at times - will be back to actually camp longer than the one night and day.

The Camp Hosts were excellent and caring
However the very first evening we were informed camp fires would no longer be allowed
We informed the Host that we would be ending our stay in the morning which was scheduled for a week
We tried too get a refund on arrival home as instructed and had 0 luck in communicating we your site
I have been in fire for 45 years and the camp site was clean and abated of all ladder fuels, trees were thinned and fire rings were properly positioned
SAD SAD SAD for you all

First time at Lake Mary and what a beauty! All the lakes around! Did some kayaking at Lake Mamie and it was perfect. The campground hosts were friendly and answered questions and made safety recommendations. We did have a bear visit our neighbors and a couple of other fellow campers overnight, but the next morning, we learned it was do to not securing food in those bear boxes. Make sure to always follow the rules and secure that food, out of your tent and car! Loved the proximity to the rest of the lake and twin for anything we needed. Wonderful experience!

Very friendly hosts, clean restrooms and sites. Lots of wonderful hikes and biking.
Just need to be advised that Lake Mary is at 9,000 ft elevation ( so some people could be affected). There are also bears, so you need to follow the guidelines!!

The view at our camp spot was incredible. However, the photos are a bit deceiving when it comes to distance and elevation between your parking spot and the actual campsite. We had to carry heavy things uphill. I will definitely be booking at this place again, but in the lower number range.
