What Guests Are Saying
Lake Mary Campground offers beautiful scenery, clean facilities, and friendly hosts, making it a great option for outdoor enthusiasts. Many visitors enjoyed activities like canoeing and stargazing, and appreciated the presence of flush toilets and paved trails. However, some sites are cramped and bear activity can be a concern, so visitors are advised to secure food properly and consider the site's layout before booking.

Tom and Heidi were the best campground hosts ever at Lake Mary -- and we've stayed in many hundreds of National Forest and National Park sites. Everything was clean and in good order, and they went out of their way to make our stay the greatest!
Suggestion: The Mammoth area is an especially great area for cycling, and increasing number of bicycles are electric. Why not put a little bench in each of the campgrounds with 110V outlets for small low-amperage draw battery chargers for devices such as shavers, bicycles, toothbrushes, etc?

The camp hosts were awesome, very friendly, very helpful. 2 biggies for us were that it said on the site that there were showers available and there were NONE! Also the trash containers were really hard to get to, especially since they requested we throw away all trash, asap, due to the bear issues. We were in sites #1-6 and it was a pain to reach the trash down the hill into the next camp area.

Stayed in spot #50. This spot is extremely close to spot #49, and you have to walk through spot #49 to get to the water spigot (there is no way around). There is also no restroom in this loop, so you must walk a fair distance to get to one. As a whole, this campground has too few restrooms for the number of visitors, so there is usually a wait to use the restroom once you make the trek. Overall, the campground layout is uncomfortable at best and mostly just plain awkward. Beautiful setting, though. Can't complain about the views! The camp hosts are great as well.

Lake Mary campground is one of the most beautiful sites around the area with plenty of beautiful views and close to amazing hikes and other activities. Would recommend to anyone trying to have a great time. Rangers are extremely friendly and helpful. This time around it was a new couple and they were amazing. Cool people to talk to and really welcoming.

To be fair, the location is great. However, the campsites are super small, no privacy whatsoever. Almost like they divided one campgrounds in two. Felt like in NY subway. Our campsite(40) was 5 feet from the bathroom. They also leave a card “write your feedback”, expecting visitors to find a pen and write something and they send it by mail? I do not recommend.
