What Guests Are Saying
Dinkey Creek offers a beautiful natural setting with excellent hiking opportunities and friendly camp hosts who provide helpful service. The campground is well-maintained, and many visitors appreciate the spacious campsites and clean facilities. However, issues such as the lack of functioning flush toilets and potable water have caused some inconveniences, alongside noise from generators and nearby campers. Overall, many families enjoy returning to this campground for its charm and the memorable experiences it provides.

I was only there for the very last day of the season. Campsite was pretty spacious. Bathrooms have running water and flush toilets which is nice. Dinkey Creek Runs along the campground, just an extremely short walk from the campsites. I will say that during peak season when it is warm enough, that the creek is used by swimmers. If you're looking to fish the creek, you're gonna want to climb and traverse some rocks and if the rocks are wet, they are extremely slick.

All of the staff and camp hosts were extremely nice and helpful. It's important to take the various hikes so you don't miss the beautiful water features. Lots of nice pools of water cascading down the rocks. The old sawmill was worth the short walk from our campsite in loop B and we crossed a pretty stream on the way.

This is a very pretty forested campground which offers no particular attraction in the fall, when the creek is nearly dry, but affords a beautiful environment for getting together with friends or just getting away and outdoors in the mountain air, where the trees smell great, the stars are brilliant, deer graze and squirrels scurry around. We had a great time and it looked like other families there did the same. Apparently bears are not a factor here because there were no bear boxes. Someone in our group left food out overnight and it was untouched. Each campground area is quite large so there’s plenty of space between neighbors, but don’t count on more than one level tent pad in your campsite. On the downside: the bathroom nearest us was locked and out of order all weekend, and the next two closest ones were left non-functional one night due to too much (apparently) heavy partying by some of our neighbors (I will spare you the details). But kudos to the brave staff who got them cleaned up in the morning. Bring TP, when there are fewer bathrooms, they run out.

Dinky Creek has nice sized spots and there was never a noise issue for us. We stayed for 9 nights and had very few neighbors. My only issue was the signage was awful. We had a person who had an ankle injury and there was no clear instructions to the old Mill and the end of season staff had no idea how to get there so we were unable to go. They need more water spickets and better information trails and sites to see.
