About Manzanita Lake Camping Cabins (CA)

Situated near the northwest entrance to the park, the rustic Manzanita Lake Camping Cabins offer convenience and comfort in the scenic setting of Lassen Volcanic National Park. These 20 cabins are the first new accommodations in Lassen Volcanic National Park since 1972, and are available in three models: 2 Room, 1 Room, and Bunkhouse. They are within walking distance of Manzanita Lake, a popular catch & release fishing and family destination, and offer a view of 10,457-foot Lassen Peak, the largest volcano in the park. The cabins are located one mile south of the park entrance, perched at an elevation of 5,890 feet and adjacent to a 179-site campground. The Loomis Museum, Loomis Ranger Station and popular hiking trails are nearby. Educational programs are presented at the museum and amphitheater within the campground.    Groceries, supplies, gifts, gasoline, laundromat and hot showers are located at the nearby Manzanita Lake Camper Store. Our cafe features a variety of delicious and healthy items including salads, fresh fruits, hot or cold sandwiches, espresso drinks and soft-serve ice cream. Kayak and paddle board rentals are also available on a first come, first serve basis at the Camper Store.  A map of our cabins can be viewed under additional information or on our website, www.lassenlodging.com.  Follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ManzanitaLake.

Really convenient, beautiful spot. The heating is excellent. Some cabins have a considerable walk to the bathroom so watch out.

The cabin itself was nice. However there was no heat like stated as it did not work. The floors and around the baseboards were filthy. The bathrooms were filthy. The showers were physically broken except for one or two. They have not even turned them on in the morning. However the lady who managed this did get me a shower and was helpful. She said they were shorthanded. Also two out of the three.Blinds would not pull down in the cabins for privacy. Also there were supposed to be a lantern which was pathetic. It was rechargeable and not charged and when I turned it on it had just a very tiny bit of light.

The people at the store give horrible service, you feel like they are doing you a favor for serving you.
The food they make is not tasty at all (I tried the breakfast burrito and the hotdog).
Would be good to have some light at the cabin or electrical plug.
If the camp is forbidding campfires you should update people ahead of time, as people buy food and wood and planned accordingly.
The heater didn't work in our cabin.

We stayed one night at Cabin #1 and loved it! Travel time to trailheads is long, so be sure to plan your time accordingly. The cabin was great!

Loved our quick power camp trip here! The cabin we stayed in was separated enough to give good privacy with one next to us being empty. Our stay was very quite and the whole campground seemed to go silent very early at night. The only ding would be the showers needing maintenance. The men’s shower only had two showers working and woman's shower only had one stahl in working order and mine ran out of hot water before I was finished. It is the end of the season so hopefully they will be repaired before next spring! We will be returning for an extended stay for sure.

Perfect little cabin. Very comfortable, clean, access to nice facilities and so close to the lake. Sitting on the porch was the perfect place to view the stars!

My husband and I had a great time. We were in Cabin 14, on the fringe of the cabin grounds, which is also a minute stroll to the shores of Manzanita Lake (which has a beautiful trail encircling it). The surrounding area was very quiet and peaceful. Our cabin was very clean and we were well informed as to what would be already provided at the campsite, and what we needed to bring. I loved reading on the cabin porch in the early morning. The women's showers were broken/in need of repair, however, my husband and I weren't even expecting to see coin-operated showers at the cabin grounds in the first place. :) I'd highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a bit of quiet and solitude.
