Best spot at Lodgepole. River sounds, not too close to other campsites, daytime shade, morning and evening sun, and starry night sky. The gate guard told me it’s in his Top 3 sites for the grounds, and you’ll get compliments from other campers. A quick walk to the bathroom and the Tokopah Falls trail, and the fully equipped market is a godsend for supplies and snacks.
Thought about staging a coup and never leaving, but hoped to pay it forward by leaving a little extra firewood in the bear box ;)
Hope to return again soon! Thank you LP!

Lovely campsite in a perfect location for exploring Sequoia National Park. Campsite was peaceful with nice views. Toilets were mostly clean and well stocked. Shower and laundry facilities were avaliable in Lodgepole Market across the road. Showers were 4x quarters for 3 minutes. Shuttle bus stopped next to the campsite which allowed you to explore the park.

Convenient location inside the park, just a few minutes to major attractions. Close access to the Lodgepole market and shuttles.

This place was amazing, especially waking up with the sun shining threw the trees and having a morning coffee near the river.

Stayed on the first night after seasonal closure. Our campsite had a lot of trash from previous season. specially the bear box and fire ring.

This campground had such a great vibe! Lively and fun without being rowdy. Clean restrooms, beautiful sites and close to great trails. We took the Tokopah Falls trail right from the campground and it was wonderful. We left before sunrise and beat all the crowds. The Lodgepole showers are worth every penny. We enjoyed the snack shop and gift shop too! Definitely loved our stay!

While some reviews about the size of site 134 had me concerned, I was pleasantly surprised upon arriving at the site. Yes, it may be one of the smaller sites, but it's perfect for a group of 1-3. My 4-person tent fit perfectly on the tent pad. Yes, the fire pit is situated in a way that puts you in direct line of your neighbors at 135, but to say that the sites are too close is inaccurate. As far as your tent goes, I simply turned my tent to face the river. From inside my tent it was like I was the only person in the area. I had no view of my neighbor's tent at all, and I just watched and listened to the flow of the river (which you have direct access to from this site). As a solo camper, it was perfect for me to enjoy some time in my own space. The entire Lodgepole campground is gorgeous.

Flat area, good for large tent, not a lot of rocks. Close to the entrance to the camping area so you can hear the cars entering at night. Very close to store, bathrooms, showers, and shuttle.

Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible.
