Site #203 was good for a van camper, truck camper, rooftop tent, etc. There would be little room to pitch a tent and the site is not very level. We had a rooftop tent and this worked great for us. The restroom is not far but the sites are small. This site is close to the main entrance/exit so there is a lot of vehicle traffic. Good for a shorter stay.

The campground and the National park was breathtaking. The only reason for the 3 stars is the bathrooms. The ladies bathroom toilets wouldn’t flush and it was disgusting.

Campsites are very small. Designated places for tents not clearly marked so be aware as there are areas where vegetation is being regrown. Staff and rangers are super friendly and kind.

We stayed in 3 different sites at Lodgepole. The sites across the bridge near the river are much nicer than those in loop A up by the visitor center. Loop A was also without water for the sites while we were there. Overall the campground had sites closer together than I like, but for what it was, our sites were clean and mostly level. Having access to showers and laundry was a bonus.

We were enchanted by this "bonita" campsite. The river was rushing, and the bathrooms were clean and nearby. Definitely bringing a fishing pole next time, I'll be back. I suggest bringing a wheelbarrow, like someone else said.

Corner campsite with a couple sort of weird options for locations for your tent (on the other side of the parking spot next to the road or behind the picnic table right next to your neighbor).
No shade to be seen in this camp site until very late afternoon, but you are right across from the river (which does have shade), so we just took our chairs over there during the day.
Also didn’t appear to be any dishwashing site near this spot (46).

Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible.
