Beautiful campground, river right next to most campsites. Close to many trailheads. Verizon signal at the campsites is amazing!! Att didn’t have any signal. Highly recommend.

Very clean and everyone was especially nice, expeditious and helpful. Expanding wi-fi would help. Associates in the store and visitor’s center were unaware that payphones were recently removed. Keeping in-touch with elderly parents was difficult.

Great five day visit. Verizon coverage was much better than expected (Winegard 360+ antenna on roof). Even managed to get decent satellite coverage. Numerous hiking trails to enjoy. Touring Crystal Cave was definitely worthwhile, even if it is a bit of a drive and a hike to visit (do reserve in advance after reading about the hike to and from the cave opening). Visit the General Sherman tree early. Numerous hikes available in close proximity, many of which were very lightly used.

Great campsite ! Booked it in a last minute opening and got a great spot that backed right into the river. Heard a bear in the area but didn’t see it, and had a ranger say they had been in the area that morning. Pay showers are $1.00 to start and that gives your three minutes. A quarter gives you more time. There’s a visitors center, ice cream, store, and deli style restaurant there as well. We enjoyed the Tokpah Falls hike which was an easy 4 mile out and back hike to a beautiful falls thats trailhead is right in the campgrounds.

Disapointed in the maintance of this campsite. Benchs near fire ring broken and dangerous. Campsite filled with large buried rocks, hazardous for walking, difficult to find area for tent. Fire ring grill broken and nonoperational. Will not stay at this site again. Walk in also includes steep rocky incline, that was not disclosed and is dangerous when carrying gear.

Had an amazing time at this campsite! Right by the restroom and water spigot. We had a friend group across at 131 and it worked out perfectly to be near each other. Bear box was roomy enough for 2 25qt coolers and a 12 gallon storage box for dry food and more. We fit a tent on the tent pad and a smaller one off under a tree. The site is right by the road but overall no issues with cars passing by and it was quiet through the night. Saw a young buck in the early morning and had no issues with bears. No cell service unless you have Verizon. Shuttles were convenient, visitor center had everything you will need, and showers worked! We went during Juneteenth weekend and the weather was a lot cooler at the campground then any other areas in the park/hikes. Would camp here again!

Beautiful river flowing through the campground. Great central location to many of the must see sights. Tram pick up right in the middle of the campsite.

Great location for star gazing. No (or little) trees obstructing the view. Also direct access to shuttle buses, making this a great spot to plan your activities from.

Lodgepole Campground is very nice and close to some great hikes. Site #36 is listed as "equipment required" but not "no tents". We had a camper van and 2 tents at the site. The ranger came by in the morning and told us it was actually "RV only" and to move the tents onto the asphalt pad which was insane. Would not recommend this site if you intend to put up any tents on it.

Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible.
