The campground is beautiful and well kept with a great crew of rangers and a separate bear abatement team. We stayed in upper loop (tent only) and were able to use our car's roof top tent with little hassle. If you plan on sleeping in a RTT, be warned that some of the sites are less than ideal - bring some levelers! And don't forget, there is an thriving black bear population in the area around the campground - we actually saw a bear - so follow the rules for food and scented items at all times.

Fabulous campground. Site 156 is stellar, with the river running just down the mountain. Fantastic Verizon service too.

This campground is always full so we were lucky to get a site in the first loop, near the store. I was afraid that the site would be noisy and exposed, and was pleasantly surprised; The site is in the sun, near the store and yet was private. Some other sites near the river are better, but what can you ask for a last minute reservation. Overall, the campground is very good.

We had site 144 reserved but were lucky enough to change to another site when we saw the setup of 144 situated so close to 143. I wanted to leave a review to let people know that the tent pad for 144 is right next to the fire ring of site 143. I don’t want to give it too low of a rating because some people loved this site before us and probably will after. Everyone likes and dislikes things differently. I would recommend booking both sites together or making friends with your neighbors. It just wasn’t for us for the night we were there. We wanted a bit more space between our site and our neighbor.

Stayed at lodgepole campground. Site 13.
Very large slip. Fire pit was ok was a little small & had a bent grill. Picnic table was at the parking spot (could have been up closer to bear box and fire pit). Quiet campground w lots of space.

Sites are right on top of each other. All dirt and it is very unclear how to walk to the site and bathroom without walking into other sites. People being loud late into the night. Definitely not our favorite campground.

Very nice campground. Not much of a shaded site so bring your ez ups. Easy access to the water line and close to the river but a walk to the restrooms so pick your poison lol. The size of the site is also a good one. We were able to fit 3 tents an ez up and a table cover tent.

Great spot across river only bad thing was that half of the day the food box had no shade.

Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible.
