Site 111 is a walk to site. This means that compared to others is in a hill. You need to carry all your items to the site and you’re heading up in a steep hill. You will terribly tired yourself quickly because it’s horrendous. Plus a big tent over 10x10 won’t fit. Everything around you is on a a hill only your tent and your table area is flat. Be careful at night since the site is surrounded by rocks 🪨

First time camping at the lodgepole, me and my wife had a blast! Great views and great community overall. Didnt get to see any bears, but that just means the community did their part on keeping any scented food and items in their bear boxes.

We had originally booked site #173, coming from Oregon we arrived after 8 pm and found that our camp site had been invaded by some inconsiderate group. It was just our luck that the Camp Host, Tracey happened to be there as we pulled in. After discussing the situation she offered us two other campsites while she tracked down the offending squatter’s. We chose one of her options in site #99 right beside the Marble Fork River. It was great and both teenager and wife loved the views, the sounds and the smells. It really was a magnificent experience. Next time we will plan for more than one night from this ideal location to the Big Trees & Giant Trees area. The sky was bright, the Trees giant and the river marbelous. Trail to Topokah Falls was just 100 yards away. Sleeping under the starry sky was mesmerizing.

Mind boggling is the only way this place can be defined.

This is one of the best campsites ever!! 124, 125 and 128 both have clear views of the waterfall. 128 is a bit more private, but you have a few stairs to contend with. Not many, and I’ll probably opt for 128 next time. A few people walk by along the river to play in the falls. Didn’t bother me at all. I highly recommend these walk-in sites at the end of Lodgepole. I was there during peak season mid-July, and it was quiet and peaceful. I would not recommend these walk-in sites to anyone with children under 5, however. Too many cliffs and boulder fields, plus the stairs if you’re in 128. I snatched one toddler from another campsite running hellbent towards the drop off to the river through my site. Another 4-year old fell down the stairs from 128. Restrooms were clean and convenient with a dish washing sink.

We loved the site we stayed at. The campground was clean, quiet, and everyone was friendly. The area was beautiful and it was easy to get to all the places that we wanted to visit in Sequoia N.P. Parking over at the visitor center and market gets really busy and crazy - but we could walk there from our site and there are free shuttles by the visitor center that can take you all around the park if you prefer the shuttles over driving.

The camp has it all! Close to the sequoias, close to waterfalls, close to a market and shuttle stop. Can’t wait to go back

Site is easily accessible and neat. But you can fit only 3, 2person tent at this site.

Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible.
