Maybe the most beautiful campsite in the United States. I recommend campsites 121, 122, 124, 125, and 132 - or any on that loop. Avoid campsites 1-60 as they are less private. Also, even in July, it was COLD at night, so bring a blanket. And - bring quarters for the showers and note, you have to drive to the Visitor's Center, but once there, they have showers, laundry, and plenty of food and shopping.

Really busy road by campsite pedestrian and cars making u turns. Also the grill was broken i had to put a big roc in the fire pit to makeshift a grill. Waterfall hike and small river close to campsite is on the goodside. Restroom always busy due to shuttle drop off being nearby

Site 112 was shady most of the day, but had the late afternoon sun. Grate for the fire pit was broken and on the ground (we only use the pit for the fire and making S’more’s, so loss for us). Bathrooms were clean. Staff is friendly. We enjoyed this campground and the amenities it offers.

Beautiful campsite. I enjoyed staying in the upper sites it’s a bit more secluded and quiete. We were next to the river and were able to get in throughout the day. Very close to the bathrooms. I would highly recommend staying here. You have all you need.

Overall this was an excellent stay for our first family camping experience. Site 064 has some open space on one side and a neighboring site on the other. Beautiful trees and mountain backdrop the site. I chose this spot for it's proximity to the restrooms. I liked our location- close enough to the stream but it felt like we had privacy and didn't have passersby coming right by our site the whole time. The downside to our spot is that this particular restroom is at the shuttle stop and at the giant parking lot for day visitors. So come Saturday and Sunday the bathrooms were totally trashed and gross and devoid of TP and soap. The bathroom was not cleaned on Saturday but it was cleaned midday on Sunday. A ranger told me an outside company is contracted to clean the restrooms everyday. The park rangers were friendly, knowledgeable and personable. I didn't know they hosted evening lectures on various topics. We loved the talk on owls. I did like the closeness to the market (10 min walk) but bc day visitors made the bathrooms gross I might consider a different site at Lodgepole next time. If I was able to do most of my stay on weekdays I would- to have smaller crowds. One note- if you bring a table cover. The picnic table at this spot is 8 feet long and the benches are 6 feet long. We were treated to deer passing by, and on our last morning a doe and buck with beautiful antlers came through our site. The free and convenient shuttles take you to the hot locations. Much easier than parking. There's a cool hike from General Sherman to Lodgepole.

The rangers were all superb. The facilities were top notch. This is the best campground we have been to on the West Coast!

The camping has an amazing location. It is super close to the most relevant places and hikes in Sequoia. The sites are big and there is a lot of privacy from the neighbors; we really enjoyed that. It has a family vibe mostly, which makes the atmosphere enjoyable, even for us who were a couple.
Something to consider is that the showers are only in the visitor centre, somewhat away from the campsites, you have to take the car. Also, they close at 9 PM, which is sometimes inconvenient during summer time.

the ranger talks and the ranger led hikes were excellent
However the ranger at the informtion desk wee particularly not helpful. They simply could not guide us on how to go about to see park highlights. As per our past experience, this was very disappointing.

Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible.
