What Guests Are Saying
Lodgepole Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting with excellent facilities, including a market, showers, and organized ranger programs. The campground's proximity to major attractions in Sequoia National Park and the convenience of a free shuttle enhance the overall experience. Great spot across river only bad thing was that half of the day the food box had no shade.

Site 59 description says it accommodates a 8' x 8' tent in a small slanted/bumpy tent spot, but we fit a 14' x 10' tent in that spot. If you position it closer to the tree than the bear box, you'll be a bit on a rock/bump but just put it under your air mattress and you should be fine.
It's right by the main roadway and path to the visitor center/marketplace, so you'll be able to people-watch everyone going by as you sit by your campfire, and it's a quick walk to go pick up supplies or get a meal/shower.

Site 144 was fantastic. The best part is the river noise that is constant. There is also a really beautiful view of the river. There is a good amount of space on the site. The only thing I would mention is that it is a decent walk to the sink where you wash dishes & the restrooms. Also, the afternoon sun is direct. I wish we brought an easy up for that time of day. The restrooms were better than last summer, but after last summer, I brought my own toilet and it was a nice addition. There were long-tailed weasels under a tree near the site & we saw a deer. It was a very enjoyable trip:)

A nice campsite, with designated spaces for your tent, camp table, and campfire, though we had some difficulty trying to find a suitable spot for our tent that was free of rocks. You can walk down to a secluded spot where you can dunk your feet in the river (though you will have to cross a few campsites) from this site. That said, be warned that because the campsites behind you are hike-in campsites, you might have to communicate (read: confront) with your neighbors and ask them not to walk through your campsite as they get to theirs. When we camped here, our neighbors walked through our campsite while we were cooking and eating, even though there is a clear pathway to their campsites. At one point, they were hanging out in front of our car, which was in our spot!

One of my favorite campsites so far. Secluded but has a lot of sites and was a short walk to the trail. Great view of the stars. Has water spigot and flushable toilets.

Pretty, quiet campsite. Stayed at site 009 that backed up to the creek and was so nice to relax by. Will stay here again if we return!

Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible.
