Good hiking right from the campground. Good access to park shuttles, too

Great campsite. You can walk to some great hikes from the campground and the shuttle picks you up there also.

Had a wonderful one night camping at Lodgepole. The market place was reasonably priced, very clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed the easy hike along the creek up to the falls and dipping our toes into the shallow pools in the creek.

Site 176 was a gem! Amid a huge campground, this site felt nice and secluded away from the noise of the main area (:
Pros:
- Site is located on a slope, so tent sites are tiered and above the rest of the campground.
- Bear box, flush toilets with soap @ sinks
- Close to the market, visitor center + showers (last showers at 8:45pm)
- Walking distance from a great spot to dip in the river
- Relatively private, lights from other campsites were blocked so stargazing was great
- Morning shade
Cons:
- Could only fit one car, but five motorcycles.
- A little hard to find spots for tents, but could definitely fit at least three!
- Slightly far from the restrooms

Very relaxing and next to the river! The site is spacious and seems more private than the one before it. Across the tokopah fall trail. There’s chipmunks and bugs. This is more like 4.5 stars since the water spigot, dishwashing sink, and trash bins were farther. Restrooms are very short walk across, it has flushing toilets and no lights (bring headlamp/flashlight). Beautiful big starry sky at night! Wear grippy sandals or water shoes when going to the rocky river! Refreshing swimming area with trout fingerlings! Lucky to snag a night but would stay here longer next time!

Very serene site, next to the woods. Close to the river and small waterfall with swimming hole. You can hear the waterfall and you can see it from the side. There’s chipmunks during the day and small mice at night. Lots of bugs, bring a repellent! Water spigot by the parked car, dishwashing sink by the restrooms which is across the site and it has flushing toilets. Beautiful starry night among the trees! Headlamp or flashlight will be helpful going to the restroom at night since there’s no lights in there. Bring grippy sandals or water shoes when going to the rocky river!

Good campsite, but be prepared that the fire rings are very short. Also there is not a dish washing station, but you need to make sure to dump all dish washing water in the bathroom. I would bring a separate bucket to catch food related water. Near showers and store which is very convenient.

Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible.
