Lodgepole Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting with excellent facilities, including a market, showers, and organized ranger programs. I stayed at Lodgepole in mid-October after the campground had switched to winter service. All restrooms in the campground appeared to be closed except for one which was a long walk from our site. There was no indication of this on the map when booking or any of the information that was available when we arrived, we just had to wander (and then drive) around the campground until we found a restroom that wasn't boarded up.

This was a poorly maintained campground. We stayed in loop 23-35 which had both water and bathrooms shut off due to weather below freezing. We have stayed at many campgrounds at below freezing weather where this was not a concern. The available campground bathroom was poorly maintained and in terrible, unsanitary condition. I don't expect luxury but expect sanitary conditions at a national park. There was also not information about purchasing firewood nor a visible campground host to provide information. Disappointed for a national park stay especially when booking this site so far in advance of our trip. I would have been better off dispersed camping in the nearby national forest.

The restrooms were dirty and on top of that the nearest restroom was like a 5 min walk from the campsites. This camping experience was not fun at all. Won't be returning to Lodgepole!

Campground is close to many nearby hikes and points of interest. Definitely recommend the trail in the campground. Even though the waterfall was dry, the hike itself was beautiful. The camp store was great, had all the essentials and then some. Picked up a few souvenirs for family back home!
My only complaint was the lack of upkeep with the facilities. The restrooms were almost always dirty and would run out of toilet paper. Also some of the showers wouldn’t work.
Sometime to note, the campsites don’t have any privacy between sites, but I knew this coming in when I booked it. Just wanted to mention if this is a important to you!
Overall, would recommend and would stay again!

Our actual campsite was amazing -- on the outer perimeter so not a lot of noise from other campsites. Gorgeous views of the night sky while still having a little shade in the day. Easy access in and out. Ample room in the bear locker. Our only was complaint that the nearby bathroom was closed down (presumably for the season?) so we had to walk or drive to the one central bathroom facility that was open for the entire complex. That bathroom was actually great, it was just a bit too far for a 3am walk when nature called or you wanted to easily dump dish water. Ranger was very friendly and offered great hiking advice. Will return!

Great campsite, having fuel at the camp store was a lifesaver!

A great park absolutely!! The lodgepole campground facilities seemed a bit over run as well as the public bathrooms at popular trailheads.

Beautiful campground nestled in Sequoia National Park. The only thing that could have been better were the neighbor situations! While this is a public campground and complete silence is unattainable 2 of our 3 nights we had very loud neighbors late into the night despite quiet hours. This was a good reminder to bring ear plugs and manage expectations. All in all we had an amazing time, the campground was very clean, lots of downed and dead wood to use for fires, and plenty of space, we would absolutely go again!

One of the most expensive national park campgrounds I've stayed at for the closest restroom to be a 12 minute walk at night because all of them within the loops are boarded up and it was extremely gross the one that was open, there are several. Campground rings but they close them all at this time to squeeze you all into one loop, so many campers taking and trying to get into spots they didn't book with large RVs they couldn't negotiate through the only open loop all the people trying to get into the spot they actually booked was very disturbing throughout the night. This is probably the only NP campground I wouldn't come back to and I've stayed in over 25 of them.

Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible.
