I was pleasantly surprised by this campground, which felt quite private despite the number of campsites around it. It backs up onto a lovely bit of woods and I spent many pleasant hours watching the chipmunks, ground squirrels, birds, and marmots. The tent pad was a good size for my four person tent. This site is easily walkable to Lodgepole Market, Grill, and visitors' center and close to a bathroom without being too close.
There's a water faucet right next to the campsite, which is super convenient. While I was camping no one else used it, but I imagine when the park is very busy you'd get people coming through for water. There's also a small uphill walk from the parking spot to the campsite, which I didn't see mentioned anywhere. It's pretty short, but important to know in case any of your campers have mobility issues.
I did not have any cell service at the campground, but there's free WiFi a short drive away at Wuksachi Lodge.

Such a beautiful campground. There was a fire pit and picnic table on each site which makes it totally comfortable. Beautiful area and view.

Great campsite! It’s right next to the bathroom and you have a beautiful view of the area since it’s at the top of the loop/hill. Even though they recommend trying to burn whatever brush you find on the ground, I would still recommend getting some logs from the campground store since all we found around the campsite was kindling. The fire pits don’t have a grill, so make sure to bring whatever set up you use to cook over a fire. The bear lockers are big and we were able to fit a 50 can soft sided cooler, 2 standard size carry ons, 1 standard size checked bag, 2 grocery bags of food, trash, 2 small day bags, and there was still more room left if we had more stuff we needed to secure. We went in mid September and it didn’t seem very crowded so the park was much more enjoyable than some of the more popular ones.

Lodgepole was quiet and pretty. We loved the convenience of the market nearby for hot breakfasts and showers! The location was good as well. I would definitely stay here again!

Wasps seems to be a annoying problem at the Lodgepole campground. Any time when trying to have a meal at the campsite, swarm of wasps were all over.

Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible.
