Lodgepole Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained setting with excellent facilities, including a market, showers, and organized ranger programs. the location was great, the weather was fantastic going at the beginning of september. Our spot had a spout for water which made it much easier for water access (probably should not drink it, unless you boil it). the tent area was flat and the campfire next to it felt super cozy. highly recommend it and probably coming back with friends.

Very quiet, convenient location. Shower is a big plus. Cashier at the General store is nice too.

The reservation system is very difficult to manage and we had no cell coverage so we struggled with making a reservation. We have a tent that sets in the bed of the truck and this space required a walkin so we camped in a parking spot - 3 ft from another car. Because of the poor cell service we couldn't evaluate the spot before arriving at the campground. Also all the spots said they were reserved when we finalky got cell service and yet many spots were empty. The bathrooms were very dark and hard to use them while holding a flashlight

Overall the campground is great. Enjoyed the location and the Ranger talk on site. Bathrooms need a major renovation. Walking distance to the market. Lot’s of wasps making it hard to relax especially when cooking meals or eating.

The park facilities were run down. The bathrooms at the campground were not cleaned/restocked. The bathrooms at the General Sherman Tree parking lot were the worst ever seen. feces on the floor, sewage everywhere. The employees were representative of employees everywhere unfortunately. We were told only one custodian was hired for the summer and he quit so they get to it when they can. The few rangers we saw did their best to ignore guests.

The RV dump station was not working, which was a bummer. Other than that it is always pleasant. Good to see the Rangers patrolling the camp ground. Very Clean.

Dangerous Rivers! Many drowning victims were playing near rivers. Rivers present a far greater danger than lakes or pools. Surfaces may look calm, but strong currents often run below. Be cautious walking near rivers as rocks can be slippery. Getting out of a cold, swift river is often impossible.
