Site 519 was everything we dreamed of! Right in front of the river and good distance from other sites.

The hikers camp exceeded my expectations, even after watching a few YouTubers describe it. The trash and toilets are maintained daily and the friendly rangers stop by in the evening for a safety talk and to answer questions for first timers to the Yosemite wilderness experience.

Backpacker’s camp is not as well signposted or on maps as other locations in the park. Friendly camp Ranger found me wandering and very kindly pointed me the correct direction.
Otherwise camp was great, not too far to walk to shuttles or walkable further to amenities like Curry Village. Toilets and trash bins on site, a hiker box with a small amount inside.

Had a great time camping at North Pines for 3 nights. Shuttle access is nearby and Curry Village is a 10 minute walk away.
People going to the river are mostly respectful, but expect some rude people to walk through your campsite.

Great campground with really easy access to all the sites and activities in the valley. Some of the roads and sites in the campground are pretty tight, but site 109 was very nicely spaced and had a ton of room between the parking pad and the creek to spread out. We were in a 25 foot camper; we got into the site with very little issue, and had room for both the camper and our tow vehicle on the parking pad. If you have slide outs, just know that there are some trees that may prove problematic. The site also provides good sun exposure for solar charging.
We rode our bikes pretty much everywhere we wanted to go in the valley, and if it was too far, like El Capitan Meadow, we took the shuttle. Definitely beats driving on the confusing roads with all the traffic and trying to find parking. My kids are already planning a return trip, and we would definitely stay in the same campground again!

This campsite was small. Not enough room for a tent but good for a motorhome or trailer. It is very close to two of the surrounding campsites. There is nice shade in the morning to noon. Shade in the late afternoon.
