Around 6 PM, more than 10 people parked two cars right next to my spot and started cooking using pine needles. The heavy smoke and loud music were very bothersome. They only left when the actual reservation holder arrived an hour later. It was a very unpleasant experience due to the noise and acrid smoke. I hope the system is improved so that only verified reservation holders can access the sites.

One of our favorite campgrounds. Friendly staff, clean restrooms. Campsites are great but inconsistent in size, so be prepared for anything.

We had a great time at upper Pines Yosemite last week. The weather was in the 70s. They only have 95 campsites open in the whole park so it was the most uncrowded I’ve ever been to Yosemite, which was wonderful but a shame that not more people could partake of the campgrounds, but I know they’ll soon open but the Rangers are all wonderful there and they do a great job of keeping up the park. this is our favorite place to camp.

A great spot at end of the first loop. Since it was at the end, we didn’t have any people walking through our site. Bathrooms were close by (also to get potable water and to dump grey water.)
While there is shade most of the day, there were a few hours where we were in direct sunlight due to the angle through the treetops.
Would recommend!

Sites are well maintained. The staff is friendly and informative. The rules are explained thoroughly and clearly. I recommend that travelers stay for a minimum of 3 or 4 days to experience all beauty Yosemite has to offer. There is so much to see and do. I will absolutely come back again.
