What Guests Are Saying
Dearhamer Campground is a well-maintained site with excellent fishing and a beautiful natural ambiance from the nearby rushing river. Camp hosts are friendly and keep the facilities, including the pit toilets, exceptionally clean. While some guests experienced issues with site assignments and off-leash dogs, many plan to return due to the overall positive experience and stunning surroundings.

Great spot, small and quiet. Easy access to the reservoir and the cleanest bathroom i have ever seen at a campground.

The campground was small but very nice. It's close to the lake for fishing and boating. The hosts did a great job of keeping the toilets clean but they are vault toilets so when you are down wind, you will smell it. The mosquitos were brutal! Bring lots of bug spray.

Great campground with easy access to the reservoir due to the lake being at 100% this summer. Kayaked and fished right off our campsite (site #1). Some road noise and unleashed dogs were the only negatives.

The Hosts were great and helpful, but their Management company needs to learn to do better business. The bathroom needed to be pumped, one of the stalls was so full it had to be closed. And the trash dumpsters were all full, with a locked closed trash can empty! We had to give the Host our trash ( which they gracefully took). Not a very good company if they are trying to cut costs by waiting to the last minute to provide required amenities.

We LOVE Dearhammer campground. Been coming here for 50 years. The new management running the campground is horrible. It’s all about the money and as a camper you can feel it. There isn’t hospitality and friendliness anymore. Just money.
It is really really sad. We were told this company is bidding for the next contract for 10. I pray they don’t get it. It will be sad to find a new place to camp.

The location of the campground was nice. Although the ONE outhouse was often out of toilet paper and the second outhouse was out of order, creating a line and an uncomfortable experience.

campground was well-kept, peaceful calm the lake was full so camping was even better. I will definitely be back next summer.

The campground hosts were excellent. The bathrooms were very clean. The campground seems to be well managed. We stayed in site 11 which was pretty nice. There are a few amazing sites on the water side but are impossible to ever get as always booked up.

5 stars to the camp hosts. They keep the facility sparkling clean. 4WD trails in the surrounding area access some of the most amazing views in all of Colorado. Highly recommend FS400 and Burnt Mountain Road. Be sure to drive slow along the Frying Pan River.
