Dearhamer Campground is a well-maintained site with excellent fishing and a beautiful natural ambiance from the nearby rushing river. This was a very nice, smaller campsite that was well cared for. The camp hosts took very good care of the facilities. It is a trek from Basalt but worth the effort. The site is in trees, has water on two sides and a short walk to the greater reservoir. Recommend!

Our camp host, Jean, was great! She had so many great suggestions for hikes and fishing. She also gave us honest I go about bear activity in the area. ( none in the campground),
We were in site 1- it was comfortable but dusty due to its proximity to the entry road and the cross-roads.

The campground is looking pretty run down, but overall we had a nice time.
Jean, was pleasant, not around much, so kind of unaware of what was going on in her campground. She kept the bathrooms stocked and relatively clean.
We were in #12, and would like to submit a suggestion in regards to the road that goes up to the cabin and Black Bess. Cars go flying by on that road, very dangerous, and very dusty for the campgrounds on that end. A simple speed bump, like the ones in the campground, would alleviate that problem. The cost would be minimal, and would be such an improvement.
Was surprised to see the thistles taking over. Like I said, Jean was pleasant, but she obviously doesn't take pride in her campground. We love Reudi, and hate to see it in such poor condition. Whomever is running the show up there, needs to come down from their ivory tower and check out the conditions of the campgrounds.
On another note, the reservation system! Needs work!!! Hard to book a two week vacation in one spot. Weekends are booked in all the prime spots. Could there be a minimum of nights? We noticed sites being empty all thru the week, just occupied on the weekends. You've got to be loosing money. Rental cabins have a minimum of 4 days. Keeps the locals from monopolizing prime spots on the weekends. A thought to consider!
