What Guests Are Saying
Molly Brown Campground offers a stunning location with beautiful views, spacious and well-maintained sites, and easy access to Turquoise Lake, making it a favorite for many campers. The hosts are attentive, keeping the facilities clean and providing helpful recommendations for local activities. However, the lack of potable water and occasional issues with restroom cleanliness have been noted by some visitors, but overall, the campground is highly recommended for its serene environment and outdoor opportunities.

We were in site #14 for the July 15-18 weekend, an intermediate stop between weeks at Grand Mesa and Collegiate Peaks. Fortunately, we had our kayaks and mountain bikes with us as the campground and vicinity are great for water and biking experiences. The trail along the Turquoise Lake shore offers a wonderful biking opportunity; just keep in mind that as you venture north along the shore, the trail gets technical in spots. There is also a new mountain biking single track that has been recently built through the burn scar and through the valley below. The camp hosts were very personable (offered assistance when we had slide-out issues) and kept all facilities (including toilets) in excellent condition. Most of the sites appear to be well-leveled (ours required no leveling blocks!), but the approaches for backing a larger rig into some sites may challenge the inexperienced rig owner. We booked the Molly Brown site as a convenient stopover point, but we had no idea there would be so much to do. We took advantage of the proximity to Leadville for cell service (no Verizon service at the campground) to talk to tech support regarding our slide-out issues and rewarded (consoled) ourselves with some good pizza and tavern evening meals.

The site was clean and well maintained. The fire ring is pretty short unfortunately. A couple of RV camping spots surround it so depending on your neighbors could be loud.

Such a beautiful place!
The camp hosts were so friendly and helpful. We were at Site 23, pretty central in the campground, and a short walk to the lake. We brought inflatable paddle boards and chose to drive to another location to go in because it would have been somewhat cumbersome to carry them from our campsite. No matter, because it was just a five-minute drive. Next time (and we will definitely be back!) we will reserve a site right on the lake. I suspect that will mean making the reservation as soon as possible (six months in advance).
One small challenge - there is a HUGE black ant colony under the fire pit at this site. Every time we built a fire they let us know we were invading their space. Once the fire was lit, things were fine.

Large campsites that feel private. Immediate access to beautiful lake. Some sites have lake views. Friendly camp hosts.

What a beautiful and clean campground! Some of the sites are rather close to each other, but across many parts of the campground, there is a lot of space between sites, providing a lot of privacy. And Turquoise Lake is gorgeous!! We will definitely come here again!!

Great campsite, lake is very big. Also a short drive away was the trailhead for Timberline Lake, which was a fun hike.

Love this campground! Beautiful lake, sites with pine trees, easy to moderate hiking and biking trails. Loved site 7, also spent a night at 13 which was next to the (non smelly and clean) vault toilets but the site’s views and access to the lake are excellent. Site 7 was flat for our camper, 13 too but a bit shorter.

Gorgeous! Breathtaking lake views, quiet sites, incredibly clean toilets. Hoping to make this an annual visit.
