Site were very nice but the bathrooms stench roamed all throughout the property depending on the wind. It was pretty foul. I would give it 5 stars if the bathroom smell didn’t spread all around.

My campsite was beautiful. I loved my views of the lake, access to hiking/biking trails, and nearness to Leadville when it was very windy and rainy.

The campground host ( older white male) was so very rude. I had just pulled in to my site and my dog (who is very well behaved) got out of my vehicle and was right beside me everywhere I went. This man drove to my site and screamed put your dog on a leash or I’ll have you fined 500 dollars! Now, I’m in law enforcement in Colorado and this is not the fine amount for a dog off leash. This dude totally ruined the vibe of this campground and was harassing in nature. There were other dogs running down the trail off leash and through the campground and he didn’t address anyone else. It was a beautiful place that I’ll go back to if he is not there.

The campground and our site were as lovely as ever. Our new trailer runs mostly on solar and our site was a bit too shady! We are learning. Hope the reservoir can recover. And as always, why do ALL the sites show reserved but are largely empty. Something’s not right.

love this campground and visit several times per year. It's always clean and the campgroung hosts are terrific.
2 issues that I would like to address... the first is I have a camper van which is counted as an RV, no problem. My buddy comes to camp with me and has a truck with a pop up tent on the top, apparently for some reason this is counted as an RV. So you cannot have 2 "RV's" in a site, I totally disagree that a tent on a truck is any different than a tent set up on the ground.
Secondly, I was just up there last week and hardly any signage was in place to inform campers about the fire ban and restrictions! The only sign I saw was posted on the info board by the restroom. Man, you gotta be more informative with an important issue like this!! I camped at the sand dunes a month ago, signage everywhere, fire pits had closed signs on them for fire restrictions.
That is all, this campground is awesome if you can get a reservation.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Utilities
- Water is not available in 2026; please bring enough for your needs and to extinguish campfires. RV dump stations are closed this season.
- There are no hook-up facilities available at this campground.
Vehicles & parking
- Campsite reservations include two vehicles; extra vehicles incur an $11.00/night fee. All vehicles must fit in the parking spur and no parking on grass is allowed.
- OHVs, ATVs, and dirt bikes are not allowed in the campground.
Site capacity
- A maximum of 8 people can occupy one campsite.
- Each site allows a maximum of 3 tents or 1 RV and 2 tents.
Pets
- All dogs must be leashed at all times, including service and therapy dogs.
Safety & rules
- Generators cannot be operated after a certain time; CPAP and medical equipment are exempt.
- Firearms and fireworks are not allowed in the campground.
- Caution is advised when traveling from lower elevations due to the high elevation of the facility.
Wildlife & food storage
- Food must not be left unattended; it should be locked inside your vehicle or RV to avoid attracting bears.
Fires & fuel
- Do not move firewood; obtain it near your destination to prevent the spread of pests.
- Firewood can be purchased at the host site for $10.00 per bundle.
