This site was great right on the water. It was right across from the toilets and had some bad odors wafting at the site. A quiet and nice campground. Had one issue with an off leash dog vs. my leashed dog.

dump station and water stations both shutdown, maybe one but both? if you can not maintain them let folks stay for free or 1/2 price, we pay for it in our taxes and you are failing in your mission!!

The Molly Brown campground was beautiful. Unfortunately, a couple hours after we arrived and got our camp set up, we had to evacuate due to the Willow fire. We were sad to leave so early, but thankful that everyone was calm and peaceful about the evacuation. We hope to come again soon. I also want to thank recreation.gov for refunding some of our money. That gives us the opportunity to maybe come again in the fall.

Location is beautiful…. However- it seems to have become a big party spot for people who don’t really respect nature or other people. Last 3x I have been here has been pretty miserable. More like being in downtown Denver than a beautiful mountain lake. Camp hosts do nothing to enforce rules or quiet time unfortunately.

It was our first time taking our toddlers camping. We invited another family to camp with us. The campsite was great with plenty of room for two 6+ ppl tents and we even setup a hammock. The campground host was communicative when there was bear sightings as well. Overall a great experience especially with Leadville being nearby.

Love this campground. Sites are clean and a good size. Having the lake provides hours of entertainment for my boys. I do wish there were bear boxes though.

Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
Utilities
- Water is not available in 2026; please bring enough for your needs and to extinguish campfires. RV dump stations are closed this season.
- There are no hook-up facilities available at this campground.
Vehicles & parking
- Campsite reservations include two vehicles; extra vehicles incur an $11.00/night fee. All vehicles must fit in the parking spur and no parking on grass is allowed.
- OHVs, ATVs, and dirt bikes are not allowed in the campground.
Site capacity
- A maximum of 8 people can occupy one campsite.
- Each site allows a maximum of 3 tents or 1 RV and 2 tents.
Pets
- All dogs must be leashed at all times, including service and therapy dogs.
Safety & rules
- Generators cannot be operated after a certain time; CPAP and medical equipment are exempt.
- Firearms and fireworks are not allowed in the campground.
- Caution is advised when traveling from lower elevations due to the high elevation of the facility.
Wildlife & food storage
- Food must not be left unattended; it should be locked inside your vehicle or RV to avoid attracting bears.
Fires & fuel
- Do not move firewood; obtain it near your destination to prevent the spread of pests.
- Firewood can be purchased at the host site for $10.00 per bundle.
