Very secluded campground with lots of history. However, you could hear the highway from the campground because of the empty valley that the campground is in. With that being said the area was absolutely beautiful and there was a short hike to a small waterfall on the Colorado Trail just down the road. I found it on all trails

Camp Hale Memorial is a beautiful campground! Our site (#4) was nicely shaded, but with enough open area to enjoy the morning sun. The bathrooms were great and cleaned daily. (Best pit toilets ever!) The campground host was friendly and obviously kept the campground in good shape. The Continental Divide and Colorado trails are close to the campground, as are gravel roads for biking. And of course, the history of Camp Hale is impressive!
