What Guests Are Saying
Gore Creek Campground is praised for its beautiful setting near the creek, providing a peaceful and private atmosphere with well-maintained facilities, including exceptionally clean bathrooms. Many guests appreciate the convenient access to Vail and nearby hiking and biking trails. However, some reviewers noted issues with noise from I-70 and the lack of water and campfires, alongside occasional challenges with campground management and site reservations. Overall, it remains a popular choice for campers seeking a serene experience close to outdoor activities.

Beautiful site, super clean bathrooms, very kind hosts and a nice trail right from the campground. We wish we had more time here!

We love it here. Nice clean quiet campground. Sometimes the flies are pests. We put out fly traps to help keep them down.

This camp could be much better. Nice camps next to Gore creek. These sites r mostly pine making ground clear. The others aspen and very brushy and weedy. Big problem on this side of camp r the walk-in campers. They r above this side of camp. We had lady on ledge maybe 20ft high watching us. Host told us he would run her off if still there in one hr. She was still there then he tells us this is part of her camp. Whoever is in control needs to go to Junction Creek camp near Durango and see how to lay out camp and run it. This should be a great camp but is not!

Excellent clean and quiet campsite close to Vail. Super convenient to the highway but didn’t feel like we were right off the road.

Close to Vail Village for cultural and recreation activities there.
Also the infamous Vail Pass pike route and forest hikes.
I had a walk-in campsite which which some elevation gain about 20 feet. I noticed that lugging my stuff back and forth.

Safe (solo mom is a six year old daughter so this is always first criteria. Quiet. Clean for a vault toilet. Stunning campsite beside the river.

Beautiful location on the creek and convenient to Vail activities. Camp hosts were helpful and the facilities were clean. It was a surprise that the "tent only" site was actually primitive with a significant hike uphill. We did not pack or prepare accordingly, however, the remoteness of the site was well worth the heavy haul for 2 nights. Would have stayed longer if we could and will come back!!
