What Guests Are Saying
Gore Creek Campground is praised for its beautiful setting near the creek, providing a peaceful and private atmosphere with well-maintained facilities, including exceptionally clean bathrooms. Many guests appreciate the convenient access to Vail and nearby hiking and biking trails. However, some reviewers noted issues with noise from I-70 and the lack of water and campfires, alongside occasional challenges with campground management and site reservations. Overall, it remains a popular choice for campers seeking a serene experience close to outdoor activities.

Gore Creek campgrounds are close to Vail, easily accessible from I-70, yet provide a tranquil and expansive setting for your next camping adventure. Dry dock sites are large - several directly adjacent to Gore Creek. Hiking trails nearby are amazing. Amenities at the sites are great as well with toilets, trash cans, and fire pits/bear lockers/picnic tables at each site.

Campground is very close to Vail but you don’t feel like you are ‘in town’. Several hiking trailheads located very close by so that’s super convenient. Hosts were great and the bathrooms were exceptionally clean. What more could you want?

This campground is mostly an open, dry and dusty affair. To avoid that, we booked a spot uphill and closer to the road. When we arrived, there were no signs indicating the route to our site so we had to hunt around. Eventually, we found it... But there were no tent pads or flat ground except for the parking area, which was extremely dusty and, well, for cars. We made it work, but we're disappointed... Especially because the host charged us an additional $7 for a second car!

Great campground hosts, beautiful setting and close to hiking. Only downfall is you can hear the highway but it isn’t too bad.
