Gore Creek Campground

Joe the host was awesome, the vault toilets were so clean he was mopping the floors, that was another level I hadn't seen before. He also helped us out by driving the firewood bundle right to our site! The grounds were really nice, the Gore Creek trail ran right behind Site 9 so you kind of got a built in shortcut right on to that trail which was awesome. You can hear the highway from these grounds and you do have cell service so it's not remote by any means but that was known and actually appreciated by our group, sometimes going camping doesn't have to be a wilderness excursion. It is possible to walk out of these grounds, down the hill, under the bridge to the bus stop and access vail and The Amp without getting in your car, that walk is about 3/4 of a mile so I wouldn't say it's nothing but it's not hard and it means with a little walking you can go from your campsite to anywhere those buses go to, all day and decently late into the evening.

Arrival day, toilets were clean and no odor. Second day, odor was pretty bad.
Smoke from the campsite next door was quite strong being blown into our site.
The place is quiet, secluded, amazing hiking from the property, lovely river flowing, and helpful host.
Our bear box wasn't working, but campsite was great otherwise

Great camp ground host! Clean bathrooms. A little bit of road noise from I-70. Close to the bike path to Vail Pass.

We stayed only one night and wished we could have stayed longer. The park was cozy and the creek ran directly behind our campsite. We will stay again if in the area!

Right on a great hiking trail. Many sites are along the water and have dense, tall trees. Sites have lots of privacy. We had a 25 ft travel trailer and wouldn’t take anything longer than that into this campground.

Would come back to site 16 again for sure

Always one of our favorite campgrounds! Nice & quite clean. The only problem was the giant motor home next to us had 2 yappy dogs that kept us inside. Why do people leave their dogs to bark!

Beautiful campground

This campground is conveniently located and the bathrooms were very clean.

Such a lovely spot! There were beautiful wildflowers by the campsite. The owner is extremely kind. He answered our questions and was very helpful. Each spot is pretty remote from the others. Would recommend hiking Gore Trail nearby.
