What Guests Are Saying
Gore Creek Campground is praised for its beautiful setting near the creek, providing a peaceful and private atmosphere with well-maintained facilities, including exceptionally clean bathrooms. Many guests appreciate the convenient access to Vail and nearby hiking and biking trails. However, some reviewers noted issues with noise from I-70 and the lack of water and campfires, alongside occasional challenges with campground management and site reservations. Overall, it remains a popular choice for campers seeking a serene experience close to outdoor activities.

The campground is in a beautiful setting of trees and the creek but has no water, wood for fires and you get noise from the highway.

We reserved site 12, which is beautiful, backs right to the river and is shaded. We have a 24 foot travel trailer, and a RAM truck and have been all over the country with it. Our tires on the RAM are a bit worn, they are all seasons. We recommend anyone in this site have truck tires with very good traction - and very good tread. We could not back in to the site - our breaks were smoking and tires spinning. The Host was wonderful - he came by, saw our problem and moved us to another site open for one night. He was great. Campground is clean, close to Vail. But most of the sites are pretty tight for a 24 foot travel trailer. You really need to drive through and find the handful that work, there are large rocks, sharp corners to avoid around trees. And soft soil.

I stay here often, and this year the bathrooms are exceptionally clean, and trash taken care of. I am so appreciative!

Our family loves staying here, this was our second year camping during the Vail GoPro Mountain Games. It's close enough to the event to experience all the event has to offer but far enough away from Vail and i70 that it still feels relaxed and secluded.

This site is one of the better sites, but it is very sloped, so it was difficult to back the trailer up into the spot and hard to get it level. Tent area is also sloped. I like the sites near the creek because the noise from the creek muffles the freeway noise, however, they're certainly not the best. #1-4 have the most noise, but they're the nicest sites, very cozy and private. This campground is very popular due it's location in Vail, but it really needs some maintenance and upgrades, it's very rustic.

What a wonderful little spot by the creek! It was quiet, and the restrooms were spotless and everyone was really respectful of the grounds.

Loved our site- site 12. Right on the creek. You can hear the highway from this campground, but not from the sites on the river like ours. Very quiet campground, nice camp host. Fun to be near Vail! Pretty campsite!

My reserved campsite (#12) had been given to someone without a reservation. When I arrived at 4:00 pm, a camper was on the site but they were away. The host refunded my reservation payment in cash and apologized. So I left and can’t recommend this campground.

It is a beautiful little campground. The pit toilets were some of the cleanest I have ever experienced. The hand sanitizer and trash bag were especially welcome touches!

I love this campground and have stayed several times. I was surprised, however, that there was no water available! We asked the campground host and he confirmed this. Thankfully, the campground is right along a creek, so we were able to fill up jugs with water from the creek to put out our campfire. Bring your own water for drinking and cooking!
