Lovely campground right by Vail. My site (8) was spacious and quiet with view of only one other site. Will definitely stay here again.

Very unexpected lovely campground because it’s so close to I 70. We really enjoyed it. Can only hear the highway went really loud big rigs go through, otherwise you hear the river all night which is wonderful. Cleanest vault toilets anywhere!

Stayed at Site 8, which is one of the most inside spots. The site was private and spacious, and close to the creek. There was some road noise but diminished a lot at night. The bathroom was very clean and the host was friendly. The location is very good (close to Vail and trails).

I stayed in site 14, which is along the creek. Very nice campground with tall trees for shade and hammocks. While there isn’t total privacy from neighboring sites there’s enough space that you don’t feel right on top of anyone. The vault toilets are the cleanest I’ve ever seen! They were spotless, no odor and lots of hand sanitizer. Camp host was friendly and helpful!

The location is phenomenal. Most sites have trees and some shade. It's beautiful being so close to the creek. The camp host was friendly, and the bathrooms were very clean.

Exceptionally nice host, very clean chemical toilet. Attended the ranger talk on sat night (only family in attendance so we got a 1:1 moment to learn some really cool info!) Thank you for a wonderful experience. While Gore Creek reservations are ALWAYS full, there were many sites that were no show the whole weekend. If you want to try the campground, you might get lucky just driving in and asking host if there is anything available.

The camp host Joe,was super helpful in keeping us updated when a cancellation had occurred. He was always working to keep everything spotless. Although the bathrooms are pit toilets they were super clean and he even put hand sanitizer in them. We aLao really enjoyed the proximity to the bike trails.

Travel east on I-70 to Exit 180 for East Vail. Turn right and follow the south frontage road (Bighorn Road) east to the road closure gate at about 2 mi. The campground is on the left just before the gate.
