What Guests Are Saying
Gore Creek Campground is praised for its beautiful setting near the creek, providing a peaceful and private atmosphere with well-maintained facilities, including exceptionally clean bathrooms. Many guests appreciate the convenient access to Vail and nearby hiking and biking trails. However, some reviewers noted issues with noise from I-70 and the lack of water and campfires, alongside occasional challenges with campground management and site reservations. Overall, it remains a popular choice for campers seeking a serene experience close to outdoor activities.

Great spot! Would definitely return. One note is that Site 19 is fairly steep with sharp rocks. If you’re traveling with toddlers / kids I’d recommend Site 18, which is a large flat space.

Nice and quiet. Very isolated. Had a nice spot with the creek running behind us. Had excellent cell service with T Mobile.

Quite cool and dark in late September, but nice big sites and amazingly close to Vail. Some road noise from I70 but not annoying. Would visit again.

Great camp host and the campsite was well maintained. The campsite was really big and we had more than enough space. The site is super close to a few trailheads and the river area was very fun to explore. We did get snowed on in early June, so plan for cold weather at this elevation. Highly recommend staying here overall!

Nice campground near Vail. Very quiet and wooded. Rustic like a campground should be. Don’t expect the locals to know about it though. It seems to escape their notice.. Great hiking trails near the entrance to the camp.

Amazing campsite! We camped in site 13, the creek was just down the slope immediately behind this site. The creek provides a perfect amount of peaceful noise and beautiful scenery. This is the cleanest campground I have ever camped in. Nice size spaces with privacy from neighboring sites. Hope to camp here again.

This has been a family favorite spot for years but we hadn’t been back in awhile. We weren’t disappointed and so grateful to be able to reserve a spot now. It used to be FCFS so this is a welcome change.

We were in at site 5 and really enjoyed our time here. The sites are far enough apart you don’t feel too close to your neighbors. The bathrooms were also very clean. Most sites are surrounded by trees and a few are along the river. The only complaint is you can hear the highway noise but being so close to town was a huge plus.
