Wish I had paid slightly better attention to some of the reviews and noticed the mention of it being a walk-in site. However, it's a poor description of the two potential uphill hikes that you have to use to get up to this spot. I also highly recommend bringing your own shade structure when camping here because the sun will be brutal and there is no relief found on the site itself. Aside from those two things, your nearest neighbor is hardy visible, you can absolutely see the lake from this spot, and the pad was big enough for our tent and we didn't have any issues getting our stakes into the ground. Cell signal was available for both XFinity and Verizon phones and the views of the sunset above the lake are worth all the hassle of getting up to this spot. You can hear the roaring of the water from someplace nearby - so if your up to hiking all your supplies to this spot - its definitely a nice one.

The area is very beautiful with lots of activities, especially being right on the lake. The campground was clean, quite and provided everything we needed.

Beautiful! A little close to our neighbors but other than that it was a fantastic site!

We had a great site that was really nice. The only concern was that a Moose and her cub walked through our campsite each night at about 4am. The site was clean and amazing. Short walk to Monarch Lake!

Arapaho Bay is a stellar campground & the staff was so friendly.
My dog and I are going to go back soon. So far one of my faves in Colorado.

Stayed two nights at site #40. Highly recommend, it is adjacent to the restroom and has a water spigot nearby as well. Very secluded spot and is a short walk to the camp host site if you need anything. You are a short walk from the lake, bring a paddle board, kayak, or just hop in for a swim. The only downside is that it is a 9 mile drive in off the main highway. We were using the campsite as an option to getting in the west side of RMNP, so that made our drive about 30 minutes to get back in (25 to the East Inlet trail). Would definitely stay at this campground again. Pit toilets were clean. Would be nice if there were someplace to hang a shower bag, but oh, well! Still a great place to put your head down!

We've been here many times over the years. We like to hike, fish and enjoy nature and beautiful sunsets. If you like the out outdoors this is worth a visit.
