What Guests Are Saying
Green Ridge campground offers stunning views and a tranquil atmosphere, with clean facilities, helpful camp hosts, and great access to Shadow Mountain Lake and nearby trails. While some sites are close together, leading to a lack of privacy, and issues with tree trimming and parking have been noted, the overall experience remains positive. Campers appreciate the well-maintained bathrooms, though some flush toilets were out of service during certain stays, and many guests express a desire to return for the beautiful surroundings and recreational opportunities.

Was moved sites. Was “asked” when I got there if I minded, but they had already had the group in my site I reserved, so I didn’t have a choice. I was put at a site next to the road, which was loud. The family I was beside had kids that were outside screaming past 10pm and their dog barked at me as I sat at MY picnic table trying to read my book, so I was forced to go to my tent at 8pm. The only positive thing is the overall campground location and I was woken up at 2am by elk calls and was greeted with beautiful stars.

Nice camp site near Shadow MT Lake. Nice bike or hiking trail around the lake. Also good for kayaking and near Rocky Mt National Park. Our only problems were they turned off the water September 20th without any notice, our first of 4 days. The on-line site said water was available. We had to get our water in the national park. The second issue is that an entire loop was closed with many campsites unusable so all sites were full and close together. The other loop could have allowed campers to spread out under the corona virus conditions.
Host were very nice.

A tight compact campground with small sites located on the south shore of Shadow Mountain Lake. It's noisy because of congestion and boating activities. This was a backup location for us because the NP CGs were booked up. Will not return here again.

Inconvenient that the dump station is our of order and has been for some time and no indication of when it will be repaired.
Had a good time even though no fires were permitted.

We stayed here the last weekend of August and it was beautiful. The camps hosts are so nice and gave us lots of recommendations! The campsite is clean, easy to find, and right on grand lake. The bathrooms were cleaned multiple times however, we did stay there during a pandemic and there was NO SOAP OR SANITIZER in the bathroom at all. There is a little picnic area a mile from the groups were moose like to hangout. We saw one each day we stayed. There is also paddle board, kayak and boat rentals. Would stay here again in a heart beat!

Pros:
Clean, safe, and scenic.
This is a great place for people that are not advanced wilderness campers, but want to be in nature.
There are some trails available right near the campsite.
Close to the Rocky Mountains Naional park.
Close to a ton of other hiking trails (that you can drive to, such as Stwaberry lake and Monarch lake). Ask a nice lady at the visitor's center for the town nearby.
Cons:
As someone mentioned, there's no tree cover whatsoever. It is still beautiful though.
There was a fire ban, so we had to use camping stove (along with everyone else).
