This was our third year coming here. While I have other favorite campsites in Colorado, this one meets the needs for shade, away from the city, close to drive to a hiking trail (Wild Basin entrance to RMNP), quiet, and my kid loves it. The bathrooms can be pretty gross, though it's usually cleaned up fairly quickly. Quick and scenic drive to Estes Park from this campground. There are large boulders that kids love to climb on all over the campgrounds. No cell service what so ever back in here (Google Fi).

The campsites are beautiful, but what really makes the experience 5 stars is the camp manager, Shirley. She goes out of her way to help people, inform them about the area, and is an experienced camper herself--hiking the John Muir trail and other wonderful places. I return regularly to Olive Ridge because of Shirley.

Campground is much prettier than expected. Lots of large trees for shade and decent privacy. Sites are spacious and you don't feel crowded by neighbors at all. the campground literally connects via back road to the Wild Basin entrance to RMNP so hiking is very convenient. We hiked the Ouzel Falls trail which was stunning and awesome for kids as well as adults. Great easy campground for a beautiful change of scenery and staying close to Boulder/Denver area.

The campground is located on the west side of Colorado Highway 7, between Allenspark and Meeker Park at mile-marker 14. It is approximately six miles north of the intersection of Colorado Highways 7 and 72 (which is 21 miles west-north-west of Lyons), 15 miles south of Estes park, and 29 miles north of Nederland.

All campsites must be occupied within 26 hours of the beginning of the reservation. If not present the site will be rented by first come first serve basis. |

EXTRA VEHICLE FEES: One vehicle is included in your reservation. Any additional vehicles will be charged $8.00 per vehicle per night and will be collected by the camphost. There is not a way to pay for extra vehicles when you make your reservation. One vehicle consists of one camper being towed by vehicle, or any other vehicle towed behind camper. One van or one truck with camper attached counts as one vehicle. |

Fire Restrictions: Fire restrictions may be imposed at any time due to hot, dry weather conditions, at which time campfires and charcoal fires may not be allowed. |

Tents must fit on the pads provided. All campsites with a tent pad have a bear locker. RVs, trailers or other vehicles must fit on the parking spur. Driving or parking off road is not permitted. |
