What Guests Are Saying
Pinon Flats Campground is well-regarded for its friendly camp host, Nancy, and beautifully maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and stunning views of the sand dunes. The campground offers a peaceful atmosphere, ample tree cover, and easy access to hiking trails. However, some sites are small and not fully accessible for individuals with mobility challenges, and issues with noise from other campers have been noted. Overall, it is a memorable camping experience with great amenities.

Beautiful views of the dunes - little walk to the restroom but worth it for a bit more space

This campground is amazing. The only thing is the toilets have very low water pressure. They kept getting clogged and barely flushed.

We absolutely LOVE piñon flats campground. They take great care of the sites, bathrooms and surrounding areas. The only complaint I have is that Everytime we have been able to get a reservation 6 months out, there is pretty much only one site available. When we arrive there are many sites (we saw at least 5 sites in just one loop) that were not being used but had been reserved. This is extremely frustrating and I wish they would go back to offering first come first serve sites so that we would be able to visit our favorite campground on a more consistent basis.

The whole park is pretty sandy (and windy); but Piñon Flats was a pleasant campground with good views and trail access, with fairly modern restrooms.

We loved this campsite. The bathroom is right behind the site up the hill. Very spacious and decent shade. We were able to fit 2 tents on the pad. We did not have an rv, but I think it would need to be fairly short to actually fit the driveway. We had a great time hiking and sledding on the dunes and hiking to zapata falls.

The campground was nice - it was full but each space had sufficient room. The bathrooms were well maintained.

A ehad a wonderful time at the campground and park. It was beautiful, the bathrooms were clean, and even though it was raining a good portion of the time we were there I have been telling everyone they have to go visit this park!
