What Guests Are Saying
Pinon Flats Campground is well-regarded for its friendly camp host, Nancy, and beautifully maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and stunning views of the sand dunes. The campground offers a peaceful atmosphere, ample tree cover, and easy access to hiking trails. However, some sites are small and not fully accessible for individuals with mobility challenges, and issues with noise from other campers have been noted. Overall, it is a memorable camping experience with great amenities.

Didn't go. Couldn't get definitive information on whether the campground was open or not during the shutdown. I was at other NP during the same week and the campgrounds were closed.

Awesome! Campsite Loop1 site 4. Clean and the restrooms were very clean even though the visit was day 2 and 3 of the shutdown. Everyone pitched in to keep the camp ground safe and clean.

Campground and restrooms were clean. Our group enjoyed climbing the dunes, playing in the sand, hiking the Montville Trail, and stargazing at night on the Dunes.

Incredible Rangers! Everyone was so kind and friendly. They gave us helpful reminders of how to keep safe from wildlife, and made sure the camp ground was clean and quiet. The bathrooms were so clean and the visitor center was a very entertaining activity when the wind was too strong to be on the dunes! We’ll definitely be back!

Sand Dunes is one of my favorite parks.
Clean campsites that aren't too crowded.
Clean facilities as well.
