What Guests Are Saying
Pinon Flats Campground is well-regarded for its friendly camp host, Nancy, and beautifully maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and stunning views of the sand dunes. The campground offers a peaceful atmosphere, ample tree cover, and easy access to hiking trails. However, some sites are small and not fully accessible for individuals with mobility challenges, and issues with noise from other campers have been noted. Overall, it is a memorable camping experience with great amenities.

Sand Dunes is one of my favorite parks.
Clean campsites that aren't too crowded.
Clean facilities as well.

Nice campground roomy, plenty of shade, good pad for pitching tent, clean restrooms, quiet for the most part (I was there on a Tuesday and Wednesday, weekends may be different). A doe and her young wandered through my campsite both mornings and there was lots of birdsong in the morning and evening.
The only negative was the RVer on the other loop that had to run his generator relatively early both days. I was awake, reading and enjoying morning coffee, but the generator shattered the morning calm. Guess they are more concerned with modern conveniences than morning peacefulness! Oh well.

Site was excellent. Park was excellent. Only complaint is that we arrived just before 5pm and were unable to get firewood which was a little disappointing

I camped with my 2 sons. We enjoyed our site, climbed the dunes, and did the beautiful hikes around the area.

Beautiful campground for small rigs with beautiful views of sand dunes and mountains. Bathroom facility clean and well kept. Campsites are well spaced out and offer good privacy. Enjoyed an epic stay, and loved hiking all of the trails! Would have liked to stay longer.

The campground provides walking access to the dunes, some sites in Loop 1 have beautiful views as well. Unfortunately, we are more last minute planners and could only reserve 1 night.

I pull a 16' camper trailer with my 20' truck. The main campground road, Loop 2, is a little narrow especially for backing my trailer into a spot. This is especially true when you put guards along the side of the road.
Not sure there's much you can do about it though but you might note the narrow roadway in your campground description.

The site I reserved was great. Even had some firewood leftover from the previous campers.
