Amazing campsite! We enjoyed the beautiful mountain setting, close proximity to the Summit County Rec Path, and the town of Frisco.
Only complaint was arriving after a 500 mile drive and finding a sign at the water fill station saying that filling RV's with water is not allowed. This was not mentioned when we reserved, or in any of the numerous confirmation emails. Had we known ahead of time, we'd have shown up with a full tank instead of having to drive to the Dillon Water Treatment plant to fill, a 13 mile round trip. A mild annoyance, hopefully mentioning it here will help someone else plan ahead.

Heaton Bay is in a good location which makes access to a lot of activities and the Recpath is easy to get to. Dillon Lake was full and made water sports a fun activity to take part in. Pleasant weather, quiet nights, lot of walkers in early mornings and evenings.

This place was an absolute gem! Especially when temps are in the 90’s down below. We just stayed for a night on our way across the mountains but wish we could have stayed longer. No such luck as this place is booked up well in advance. Loved the bike trail and the views are incredible!

This is one of the most private camp sites we have ever stayed at. Lots of shade except by the picnic table. The water is close enough to walk to but far enough where mosquitoes are not much of a problem. Plenty of spots for multiple tents and a bear box close by. The bathroom and parking is further away but it is worth it for the amount of privacy.

Great location next to the water and being able to go into both Fraser and Silverthorne. This campground is also right by the bike path. The only reason I gave it four stars is because we could barely get out of our camper because the site is so narrow. We could not sit with our awning out. They do have plenty of room next to the tables and fire pit. It is so nice to have your awning if you want it. we walked out our door literally into a bush. I think there was only about 2 feet extra room total on the width of the whole parking spot. Also, if you are not good at parking a trailer do not bother coming.
