About Heaton Bay

Heaton Bay Campground is situated at an elevation of 9,000 feet and centrally located for recreation and relaxation in the White River National Forest. There is little or no shade in the campground due to pine beetle infestation and the removal of hazard trees, but the sites offer open views to Dillon Reservoir and several mountain ranges.

This was a beautiful campsite! The couple working it this summer we’re extremely kind and personable! The only reason I’m giving this campsite 4 stars is because there is no shower houses.

This is an amazing place. We really enjoyed our 2 nights at Heaton Bay. The driveways and streets are asphalt. There is water available on every loop. The campground is just minutes from the cute town of Frisco. There are bike trails and walking trails everywhere. It's so quiet at night. This is a beautiful place and we will definitely return.

Heaton Bat is one of our absolute favorite camping spots with our 29 foot RV, coming from Denver. Our favorite activity is to ride our bikes around Lake Dillion and to/ from Breckenridge. In addition we just love the easy access to the downtown Frisco areas.
