About Heaton Bay

Heaton Bay Campground is situated at an elevation of 9,000 feet and centrally located for recreation and relaxation in the White River National Forest. There is little or no shade in the campground due to pine beetle infestation and the removal of hazard trees, but the sites offer open views to Dillon Reservoir and several mountain ranges.

Love Heaton Bay, but the mosquitos were awful during this stay. Nothing you can do. HOWEVER it would be great if you would expand electric sites to loop A as well. Also a dump station closer would be awesome.

Wonderful host! We arrived in the afternoon and were getting settled in the camp host came they to check us in which was great! Thankful that everyone was so nice. The site was spacious and close to water fill up. Would highly recommend

The bathrooms were so well maintained and clean! We enjoyed being so close to the bike path and rode in both directions- to Copper Mountain and to Keystone. We used our Kayak and Paddle Board and explored the lake. It was quiet and so well situated for adventures in Summit County!
