What Guests Are Saying
Lowry Campground is praised for its beautiful views, cleanliness of facilities, and convenient location near towns like Breckenridge and Frisco, making it ideal for outdoor activities. Lowry is a perfect location to enjoy the Frisco/Breckenridge area. Top of the world views of Dillon Reservoir and the valley. A short, easy trail leads from the road to the campground, to the 20 mile paved bike trail that circles the reservoir. Down the hill is great mountain biking. Good restaurants and breweries are 10 minutes away. Hiking, SUPing, kayaking...so much to do! The aspens turning color were amazing. The pines are growing back and will provide more privacy each year. The people you meet there are wonderful, caring and sharing, and best of all, the park host, Kurt is a gracious, helpful, accomodating and funny guy! I hope he's there next year?

We had a great time! The camp ground was super clean and beautiful RV sites! The camp host is always out and around, I swear he was working 24/7! He is very helpful! And friendly! We were there with a jeeping club, and we had a small get together and they all loved the site and views. Thank you for a great reasonably priced stay!

Love Lowry, Been going twice a year for 7 years. Camp hosts, Curt and Lorraine are the best ever. Clean toilets, friendly, helpful around the clock. They are, principally the reason that we keep going back.

Lowry Camp Ground is the best in the area for it's great views.
The only negative is the water situation, they need a new well or upgrade the old one so you don't have to haul water to take a shower!!!!
We do plan to return!

Campground host does a fantastic job keeping this facility in top notch condition. Even saw him out after dark checking and cleaning bathrooms. He goes above requirements to make this a great facility!

We camped at Lowry Campground for 10 days in August and could not have had a better time. We had site #14, which was a bit of a challenge to get backed into and level, but once there is was nice and private with nothing but trees on one side, and we were angled so that we were not staring right into our neighbor's campsite on the other side. The campground is perched on Swan Mountain, located near Dillon, Frisco and Breckenridge. There is electric service at some sites (including ours), there are five water spigots located around the campground for filling water tanks, and there are two vault toilet locations. The weather was perfect, the hiking and biking were great, and the views were to die for! The campground is kept clean and tidy by the very personable Kurt, who is available almost any time of day. He is a wonderful campground host and we look forward to seeing him next year!

Beautiful surroundings. Clean bathrooms. Nicely maintained picnic tables and fire rings. I would jump at the opportunity to camp here again.

Campground host was relatively inattentive and a number of camping sites are difficult to back a bumper pull into. Upon arrival to the campground the host was not on site and there were no instructions for hook up/arrival procedures, which led to confusion about where fresh water was available. According to the recreation.gov website there were no water hookups at my site (site 5), however there was supposed to be potable water on site to fill my trailers fresh water tank. At the entrance to the campground, next to the host trailer there were two water hook ups and with no one available to provide me direction I began to hook up to one of these and fill my fresh water tank. Just before I began someone (presumably the wife of the host) yelled at me out the window of the host trailer that I couldn’t fill my water tank there. When I asked her where I could she told me to call her husband (the host). We found his number on the door to the trailer who informed us vaguely there were “water hookups throughout the site”. Once we found another water spout we ended up using it with no issues. Then we attempted to back into our site which was angled about 90 degrees off one way traffic flow of the site which made it near impossible to back our trailer in (30 ft bumper pull). We ended up going the opposite direction of the traffic flow to be able to actually back the trailer in. During this process the campground host showed up and when we asked him what the best method was to get into the site he just shrugged his shoulders. Overall the campground hosts are relatively inattentive/rude and the campsite, at least site 5 and the one next to mine (watched a guy struggle for 45 minutes to back in at an extreme angle), is portly laid out. Once you’re in and set thought it’s great views and perfectly in between Breckenridge and Keystone.
