What Guests Are Saying
Peak One Campground boasts a fantastic location near trails, towns, and Lake Dillon, making it ideal for outdoor activities. The campground is clean, well-maintained, and offers good privacy between sites. However, there are ongoing issues with restroom facilities, as vault toilets remain closed and only porta-potties are available, which some guests found less than satisfactory.

In June 2024, the bathrooms were locked. The port-a-potties were filthy and out of toilet paper. I could not located any information about why the bathrooms are not available at this time. This lowered the quality of this campground considerably. I also could not locate a campground host during my visit.

As of now, it implies there are flush toilets, but this is a flat out lie. There are port-o-potties that are not cleaned near enough for the number of folks. At least be honest with potential campers about the facilities.

The view was nice, and porta potty and bear-locked garbage a short distance away. Many trees were cut down, so we were not able to find many places to hang our hammock on the site, but if you like more open campgrounds this would be a good one. Close to downtown Frisco, which we enjoyed exploring. Vault toilets were still locked when we were there at the end of May, which we would have liked to use rather than the porta potty, but at least they were pretty clean. Overall did the trick for us! Lots of things to do in the area and there seemed to be nice hiking trails around the campground, though we didn't spend much time hiking.

Site 67 has great views of Peak One and short trail access to the lake. Unfortunately, the flush toilets are not functional so port-a-lets have been placed in strategic locations. When making the reservations months in advance we check restroom locations to ensure we are not on the path to or down wind of those. It is not clear if this is a permanent situation or only early season. An email should have been sent out advising of the facility change.

The campground is in a great location with some really good sites. However, the bathrooms were not working and no notice was provided ahead of time either on the website or any kind of email notification. The temporary porta poties were basically full and not so clean. To charge extra for a holiday weekend and to have not identified that the flush toilets were shut down with unkept temporary toilets just didn't seem right.
