This is a great campground; many of the sites have awesome views of the lake and mountains. Shhhh!!! Don't tell a soul. There are a few trails leading down to the lake. The campground is quiet, clean, and a peaceful place to call home away from home for a few days.

Pretty campsite with nice view over the Rockies. No water available, no dumpsite. To the lake is a pretty steep trail. Nearby Friso and Breckenridge are nice for a visit.

Beautiful campground with fantastic views of the Tenmile Range and Dillon Reservoir. Definitely the cleanest pit toilets Iβve ever experienced (confirming prior reviews). No drinking water during our stay but we did receive advance warning and filled up at Upper Blue Sanitation on Swan Mtn Rd just south of the campground. The road into Prospector is pretty rough but take it slow and youβll be fine.

Lack of big trees near the spot so almost no shades. Also there must be a good reason that the table was locked up, but it was locked up far from the fire pit which was a bit inconvenient if you dont have a camping chair. Otherwise it was well maintained and clean. Also the host was really nice and helpful.

We pulled up to blaring music from another loop. After putting up with it for 24 hours, we walked to find where it was coming from. To our surprise it was the campground host! Not a great place to be if you want to camp in peace and quiet.
Sites are large, but not terribly private. The trees were clear cut a while back due to the beetle infestation and the new growth hasn't really filled in the area yet.

Campers must occupy the site the first night at a campsite. This prevents booking the site for Fri-Sun and showing up on Saturday. |
| General |
Campers may leave the site for 24 hours and must occupy the site otherwise. This allows a camper to say go for an overnight backpack trip in the woods for one night and come back to their campsite the next day. |
